Samvardhana is a speciality clinic dealing with Rehabilitation of Differently abled children. The clinic was inaugurated by Dr.Vidhyasagar, NIH in 2008.

the literal meaning being (Sam+Vardhana) ‘Complete and Proper Development’, Advancement, Growth & ‘Promotion of Good Health’.
Development is a continuous and complex process of the interaction of inborn biology coupled with vast environmental influences and experiences. The pediatricians are increasingly being asked to evaluate the developing infants, thus the new role in infant assessment is largely the result of a change in survival rates of the infants at extreme risk for the CNS damage and heightened appreciation for potential impact of early intervention in minimizing the effects of the CNS insults. It is estimated that about 10% of the people in the world are disabled. Thus the physically and mentally disabled children are the challenge for the Medical field and Society. The traditional science of India i.e. Ayurveda along with other contemporary sciences like Physiotherapy, Yoga & Naturopathy, Speech therapy, Psychotherapy etc can improve the quality of life and expand the life span of the individual. Keeping this multidisciplinary approach of treatment in view Samvardhana, rehabilitation of differently abled children was put into picture.

Physically and mentally challenged children who visited our hospital were registered and screened for their disabilities like, Cerebral palsy, Mental retardation, ADHD, Learning disabilities, Enuresis, Speech problems and other developmental disorders, following which the patients in Samvardhana OPD were assessed and referred to different multidisciplinary specialities like Physiotherapy, Psychotherapy, Speech therapy, Yoga& Naturopathy etc where patients are assessed and treatments are decided and then comprehensively planned. Ayurveda along with all the above contemporary sciences are successfully used for the rehabilitation of these differently abled children. This multidisciplinary approach of treatment helps in promotion of intelligence, memory, reduce hyperactivity, increase concentration, reduce spasticity etc.
