Vrukshayurveda is a branch of Ayurveda which deals with context of plants. It deals with systematic composition starting with glorification of trees to seed banking. Department serves for preservation and treatment of seeds , preparing pits for planting sapling, selection of soil, method of watering, nourishment and fertilizers, plant disease and protection from internal and external diseases, layout of a garden, agricultural and horticultural wonders, finding ground water sources

History of the Department
Department was started in the year of 2011 under the leadership of Dr B S Prasad, former principal of the institute. Dr D G Kolume served as first coordinator of the department. It started with herbal garden. Since its inception department has expanded, now it comprises Herbal garden, Punarnava nursery, narsingpur Farm, Bumbaraga farm, Hydroponic unit. Department has conducted many workshops on medicinal plants identification, Vermi composting, sampling techniques, seedling techniques, cultivation techniques. The department strives for reviving the age old and time tested techniques of horticultural as well as agricultural practices.

- Conducting programs for SMPB like Buyer seller meet, Dravyadarshini etc
