KAHER's Shri B M Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya PG studies and research centre, was established in 1933 by Late Shri B M Kankanawadi with the objective of revitalizing the science of Ayurveda, its utilization by society and entrepreneurship in Ayurveda for youths and is known for its highest academic excellence and its dissemination to the community at large. It has well established 281 bedded first NABH accredited high-tech Ayurveda Hospital in Karnataka with GMP certified Ayurveda Pharmacy and Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam incubation center. The institute has Central Research Facility comprising of AYUSH certified ASU drug testing lab, Animal Experimentation Laboratory & Medical Research Centre. Its main aim is to build a Centre of global excellence in Ayurveda education by preserving, propagating and developing the the Indian systems of medicine through quality Teaching, Training, Patient care and Research. Now Shri B. M. Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya is the first institution in AYUSH sector in India to have both NAAC and NABH accreditations.
