Successful Seed ball sowing activity by KLE BMK Ayurveda College students

            The Belagavi city, which was once known as Venugrama for its good climate and lots of trees around it, now lost its greenery because of rapid urbanization. To restore the forest region and enhancing green coverage, department of Vrukshayurveda in collaboration with N.S.S Unit of the K.L.E. Academy of Higher Education & Research’s Shri.B.M.Kankanawadi  Ayurveda College, Belagavi conducted Seed ball sowing activities –“BEEJANKURA” by the students of III year BAMS at Haalbhavi forest area of Kakati Range Forest, Belagavi.

In this activity, more than 30,000 seed balls of different varieties prepared by scientific way by the students which were sown in the forest area where the scarcity of trees was observed. One lakh seed balls would be the target for this year.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr.B.S.Prasad, Principal of Ayurveda college by sowing seed ball in the above said forest area. In his speech, he addressed about how the seed balls will help in the faster growth of the lost green spaces. He also informed about our college caring out special techniques in making these seed balls.

In this event, Range Forest Officer (RFO) Shri.Nagaraj Bheemagol, Deputy-RFO Mr.Sanjay, NSS Programme Officer Dr.Sanjeev S Tonni, In-chrge of  Vrukshayurveda department Dr.Adavesh Holeyachi, Field officer of Punarnava Nursery unit of the college Mr.Kadayya & Forest guards Mr.Mallikarjun Khuddu, Abhinandan Magdum, Aneesh Kammar and Praveen Hadimani were present during the event. The seed ball sowing activity was  grand successful.
